Speedy GSOC triage with Stacked Events

Camio Event Stacking condenses trailing activity to make GSOC triage 5x faster.

Most cameras see only sporadic bursts of activity. The first event of each burst triggers the GSOC review, but that first event is often followed by several minutes of activity that is predictably harmless and safe to ignore (e.g. a well-known maintenance crew repairs an elevator for 15 minutes). When GSOC staff can instead condense that trailing activity into a compact summary, they’re able to triage only the important events to handle more video streams. Camio Event Stacking collapses related events from the same camera into stacks to make review 5x faster.

Condensing trailing activity

(+4) means 5 events are summarized in this stack.

Stacked Events show the number of additional events included in the stack. For example, (+4) means that there are a total of 5 events summarized in the stack. You control the maximum time gap between contiguous events and the maximum total number of events in the stack using the settings at https://camio.com/settings/general.

The actions you perform on a stack apply to all events in that stack. For example, when you add a quick label while triaging events, that label is applied to all events in the stack. When you click to open a stack, each event plays sequentially as you advance through the stack.

Sharing links with Event Stacking preferences

People control their own stacking preferences in their own settings, but you can share links that include your preferred stacking. For example, when you open this link anonymously in your browser, you see the stacking behavior used at the time of sharing that link.

For the techno-curious URL lovers, the parameter that controls the stacking behavior is stacked=60s20e—which means that the max gap between events is 60 seconds and the max number of events in the stack is 20.

The power to protect at scale

Since speed is a core component of GSOC efficiency, Camio continues to invest in real-time event summarization that’s fast and simple to review from any web browser or API endpoint. The combination of Camio’s real-time video search and alerts with features like Event Streaming, SOC Toast, Schedule searches, and Event Stacking enables SOC staff to protect more people at more locations around the world.
