# Delegated Recording for crowdsourced video

Did you know that [Camio](/content/site-root.html) enables you to enlist other people to use _their_ devices to record to _your_ account?

Say you need colleagues in three different offices to record a document signing. You’d send each of them a link to a QR code — like this one for the Boston office to record with the camera named “Boston”:

When the Camio app for [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.camiolog.camiocamcv&hl=en) or [iOS](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/camiocam/id618450809?mt=8) scans this QR code from the app’s sign-in screen, it becomes a recorder with the camera named “Boston” on your Camio account. Each person’s device then acts only as a recorder for your account — without having any access to the content in your account.

This delegated recording feature is especially helpful when archiving rules require a centrally managed, tamper-proof account for retaining video history. But it’s also really nice for all the security-conscious people that want to set up multiple devices for recording without leaving any account access credentials on the device.
