The Camio Slack App

When important events occur, often cameras are the first to see them. Hours or even days used to be spent manually reviewing camera footage to find these important events. Camio summarizes these videos for you by detecting significant events in real-time. Once it becomes clear that a specific video clip might need review, the challenge becomes how to best alert you. There’s a balancing act between providing too much data and too little. Full videos take too long to play, yet the text labels alone are insufficient to know with certainty what happened. Even though Camio chooses the perfect cover image for the event, there’s another balancing act in choosing how to alert you. Emails get lost. Push notifications can be too ephemeral. The Camio Slack App strikes a nice balance between at-a-glance alerts and streamlined review.

The new Camio Slack App delivers salient cover images to your Slack channel whenever a camera sees a new event that matches one of your pinned queries. Each message includes a link to jump straight to the event in your Camio feed.

Example Usage

For example, the pinned query “people inside Main Entry” delivers messages for events like this UPS pickup. A quick review makes it simple to follow up by unlocking the door remotely or stepping away from a meeting for signatures.

Quick Discussion

To discuss an event with your coworkers, reply in a thread to the message from the Camio app. Need somebody else to sign for that delivery? Simply @ mention them on the message!
